AIR

Over 450 flights per week service PV's International airport, from gateways throughout the US, Canada and Mexico. Puerto Vallarta is well connected to North America's major airports hubs. Scheduled service operates from several U.S. cities (Chicago, Dallas/ Fort Worth, Denver, Houston, Los Angeles, etc.). As of 2008 the active airlines utilizing the commercial section were: Aerocalifornia, Aeromexico, Air Canada, Alaska, American, Aviacsa, Azteca, Continental, Magnicharters, Northwest Airlines, Mexicana and US Airways.

During the high season the airport handles approximately 300,000 passengers a month. During the low season it handles between 100,000 and 150,000 visitors.

BUS

National bus lines connect Puerto Vallarta (via the Central Camionera near the Modelo building north of town near the airport) with Guadalajara, Mazatlán, Manzanillo and points beyond. Bus lines include ETN and Primera Plus. Smaller bus lines connect Puerto Vallarta to small coastal and sierra towns.

TAXI SERVICE

If you are in need of a taxi from Casa Genoa, please call Alex at MyConcierge for assistance or you can also request assistance from any of the Real Del Mar employees. Taxis are plentiful wherever you go in Puerto Vallarta. If you are hailing a taxi on your own, be sure to negotiate the price before getting into the taxi. Prices are set throughout town and the taxis are not metered. The only variance is when taking a taxi from the airport, which is more expensive than going to the airport because it is a Federal Zone and there are increased taxes and airport fees for the Federal Zone Taxis. Generally the standard fare is $8 to $10 if you are staying in town with the fare going up to $20 to $30 if you are staying at one of the northern hotel zone hotels. Cab drivers are very nice and the cars (usually Nissan Sentras) are clean. Puerto Vallarta is a great walking town with lots to see but cabs can be necessary for your reservation for dinner, visiting other parts of the region or getting across town quickly.
